PrivacyProbe

About PrivacyProbe

PrivacyProbe runs controlled browser tests, records what loads around consent events, and presents results as a clear pass or fail with explanations and suggested actions.

“Privacy problems are often communication problems first. If teams can clearly see what is happening, they can fix it.”

— Rob Smart, Founder, PrivacyProbe

Why PrivacyProbe exists

I built PrivacyProbe after more than 15 years working as a professional web developer delivering websites for organisations ranging from global brands to small independent businesses. Across hundreds of launches, the same issue kept repeating. Cookie and tracking compliance was difficult to verify, especially in multi-team environments where scripts and third-party tools change frequently.

PrivacyProbe started as an internal tool to create a simple, repeatable way to inspect what actually runs in a browser. It is now the first tool I use when checking a site.

What PrivacyProbe does

PrivacyProbe acts as a neutral, technical indicator for cookie and tracking behaviour. It runs controlled browser tests, records what loads around consent events, and presents results as a clear pass or fail with explanations and suggested actions.

Anyone on a team should be able to read a report and understand what was detected and why it matters. Developers get concrete information they can fix. Project managers and founders get visibility they can use to justify decisions.

  1. Run controlled browser tests.
  2. Record what loads around consent events.
  3. Present results as pass or fail with explanations.
  4. Suggest concrete actions teams can take.

How teams use PrivacyProbe

PrivacyProbe supports quick one-time checks and ongoing watchdog monitoring. Agencies can oversee multiple client sites and internal teams can integrate it into release workflows. The system builds a growing knowledge base of observed behaviours and uses AI to communicate findings in clear language.
